The Story
A lifelong love became a shared language.
A boy in the USSR heard a song he could not understand, and felt something he never forgot. A Shabbat in Israel brought that feeling back. Years later, Olga Anikina’s Russian poetry and Elechka’s voice turned memory into a living catalog.
Walter produces the project and translates or adapts Olga’s Russian versions into English. Only occasionally does he write an original English text for a Jewish or another existing melody.
